Description | The Copi Mineral Sands Project is a planned $693 million mineral sands mine located around 180 kilometres south-west of Broken Hill, NSW, and about 110km north-west of Mildura, Victoria. It aims to extract up to 400,000 tonnes of critical mineral ore each year over an 18-year life cycle, sourcing rare earth concentrates and titanium-bearing minerals including rutile and zircon. The project has received provisional approval from the New South Wales government and is pending Commonwealth government approval and private financing. Production is slated to begin in 2029, with the project expected to create up to 480 construction jobs and 240 ongoing roles. |
