Copper Creek Mineral Exploration Project

under exploration

The Copper Creek project involves mineral exploration for a proposed copper mine in southern Arizona. The Bureau of Land Management approved drilling at 67 sites across 18 acres, with drilling permitted around the clock for two to three years. The project is currently in the exploration phase to analyze mineral resources before deciding on proceeding with an open-pit mine. The project has raised environmental concerns due to its potential impacts on threatened species like the Mexican spotted owl and yellow-billed cuckoo, as well as on groundwater resources.
