The wind farm is part of round 4 of South Africa's Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Programme (REIPPP). Copperton has an estimated annual production of 360 GWh/year. The 20 years durable energy sales contract forecasts an income of over 400 million euros. Sponsor of the project is Elawan Wind with 100% stake. Standard Bank and Development Bank of Southern Africa are providing the $200 million debt.
