Description | SC Ports opened the Cosgrove Avenue extension and pedestrian bridge at the Port Navy Base Intermodal Facility in North Charleston. The bridge extends Cosgrove Avenue above the port rail yard to allow trains to move freely without hindering traffic. It connects vehicles and pedestrians to the growing mixed-use Navy Yard Charleston and the Navy Yard Industrial Campus, improving traffic flow, pedestrian safety, and connectivity. The project also includes a 12-foot wide pedestrian path with a barrier and is near completion of a 15,000-square-foot community recreation park in North Charleston's Chicora-Cherokee neighborhood. |
