Costco Independent Gas Station Pilot in Mission Viejo

planned

Costco will launch an independent gas station outside its store in Mission Viejo, California. The project involves leveling a shuttered Bed Bath & Beyond site, installing three 40,000-gallon underground tanks, and constructing a 17,185-square-foot canopy with forty double-side pumps. The station aims to process up to 9,500 vehicles a day and operate from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., supervised by Costco employees. This pilot is designed to capture freeway traffic without the need for a full warehouse store, potentially replicable in other dense metro areas.
