Covington's First Dedicated Bike Lane on West Fourth Street

completed

The project involves the creation of the first dedicated bike lane in Covington, running along a half-mile stretch of West Fourth Street between Garrard and Johnson streets. The bike lane is five feet wide and was established by redesigning the road to have two vehicular lanes instead of three, each slightly narrower to accommodate the bike lane. This initiative is part of the broader Covington-Newport Bicycle Transportation Plan aimed at improving public safety and expanding bicycle infrastructure.
