Description
Description | US renewables developer-operator D.E. Shaw Renewable Investments LLC (DESRI) has received approval to construct a 200-MW solar photovoltaic (PV) park in Sacramento County, California. The project will span almost 3,000 acres northwest of Rancho Murrieta and will connect to a powerline owned by the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD), which will offtake the electricity generated. The site will also include a 100 MW four-hour battery energy storage system (BESS). The project will allow grazing activities and will preserve 13,000 oak trees under preservation easement, reducing tree impact by 30% from the original plan to address environmental concerns. |
