The project involves the development of a passenger terminal building, railway station, and public transport interchange for the Centralny Port Komunikacyjny (CPK) Airport in Poland. The project will be built between Warsaw and Łodz, connecting air passengers to a 2,000 km network of railways. The airport will have a capacity of 40 million passengers, which can be expanded up to 60 million.Key features:A 6 km long rail tunnel connecting the station under the airport: to Warsaw eastwards and to Gdańsk, Katowice and Łódź westwards.The tender is split into two lots:Lot 1: design + construction of the station, plus the eastern and central tunnel sections.Lot 2: design + construction of the western tunnel section and junction area.Both lots include anoptional scopefor track systems and internal transport equipment (for short-distance passenger & cargo movement) inside the station/tunnel complex.The airport terminal building (designed by Foster + Partners and Buro Happold) is scheduled to open in2032.The station/tunnel component is due to becompleted by 2031.Objective: Make major Polish cities reachable within 2.5 hours from the new airport (to be sited 50 km west of Warsaw).
