Description

Description

The proposed project would provide a 10 foot asphalt pedestrian trail on Spring Road over the CSX Railroad in the City of Smyrna. A bridge would be constructed north of, and adjacent to, the existing vehicular bridge over the CSX railroad to accommodate the enhanced pedestrian trail. The proposed pedestrian bridge would be an approximate 13 feet by 270 feet steel box truss, prefabricated bridge. The bridge would be clear-span, requiring no piers in the railroad right-of-way, and would tie into the proposed 10 foot asphalt pedestrian trails, as programmed by the City of Smyrna, on both ends. An asphalt pedestrian trail is proposed to provide consistency with the planned asphalt trails at the tie-ins.
