Description

Description

This bridge (Structure ID 243-5006-0, CR 22 over Carter Creek) was built in 1965.  The bridge consists of fourteen spans of reinforced concrete deck panels on concrete caps and timber columns.  The design vehicle used for this bridge is the current standards.  The overall condition of this bridge would be classified as satisfactory to serious.  The deck and superstructure are in satisfactory condition with minor concret cracking and deterioration.  The substructure is in serious condition due to deterioration and rot of the timber piles.  Several substructure units have been temporarily shored due to excessive rot and deterioration of the timber piles.  If this bridge is not shored it would require posting.  Due to the structural integrity of this bridge, the serious condition of the substructure and temporary shoring, replacement is recommended.
