Description

Description

The GHSU Laney Walker Streetscape improvement corridor is approximately .36 miles long. All improvements are within the Laney Walker Boulevard right-of-way from the intersection of 15th Street to the intersection of R.A. Dent Boulevard. The proposed project would reduce the number of travel lanes from four to two. All existing parallel parking will be removed. The new travel lanes would be 11' wide and have 5' wide bike lanes on both sides of the road. The proposed two lane road would be a double jog configuration and would require new road paving and header curb. All proposed roadway design would provide positive drainage by resetting the drainage structures that currently are almost covered and properly crowning the road with a 2% cross slope. Other project objectives include enhancing safe pedestrian crossings, promoting pedestrian access, bike linkages and landscaping throughout the corridor. All improvements would be in accordance with the American with Disabilities Act (ADA).
