Description

Description

This bridge (Structure ID 275-0056-0; CR 305/Palmer Road over Little Ochlocknee River) was built in 1963 and is posted for weight restriction. The bridge consists of seven simple spans with four concrete Tee beams on reinforced concrete caps and piles and was designed using a H-15 vehicle which is below current standards. The calculated load carrying capacity is 47.2 percent lower than current standards. The deck has light abrasion and minor random cracking throughout and the deck joints are open and leaking. The beams exhibit vertical cracking in the flexural zone. The concrete caps have minor random cracking throughout and piles all have light abrasion. Further deterioration of these components will result in a further reduction in the load carrying capacity. Due to the age of the structure, the load carrying capacity being below current standards, and the posted weight restriction, replacement is necessary.
