Description

Description

The proposed project provides pedestrian improvements in downtown Tucker, in DeKalb County. The project reduces the existing four travel lanes to two 14-foot-wide travel lanes (one in either direction) with 20-foot-wide angled parking, curb and gutter, and a 15.5-foot-wide pedestrian zone to include pedestrian lighting, benches, and trash receptacles. The design speed will be posted at 35 mph. The proposed right-of-way will remain at approximately 65 to 100 feet. However, approximately 0.124 acre of open land would be converted to right-of-way. Current on-street parking and two travel lanes (one in either direction) would be converted to accommodate the pedestrian zone. On-street parking would be re-constructed behind the pedestrian zone.
