WCC Europe is the unique representative organization of the crafts sector in Europe having 31 members among national, regional, and professional craft organisations in 19 European Countries (14 of them in EU-27). Within this project “Craft” is understood as any object that has been made by hand by a craft maker, including basketry, ceramics, furniture, glass, jewellery, metalwork, paper, textiles, wood, among others. CRAFTING THE FUTURE will implement the WCCE Manifesto and Strategy by pursuing the following specific objectives : - To enhance the role of WCCE as THE representative organisation and voice for Crafts in Europe. - To generate a structuring effect on the European Crafts sector through an enhanced capacity to respond to common (economic, digital, societal and environmental) challenges, - To reinforce European arts and crafts’s capacity to be active at international level strengthening transnational cooperation for the creation, circulation, promotion and visibility of European works. - To enhance the capacity of the European Crafts sector encouraging the specialised skilling of craft’s professionals and promoting training opportunities in entrepreneurial, digital, financial and management. - To highlight and accelerate the important transformative role the European Crafts sector plays as a driver of sustainability and circular economy. - To promote a thorough and in-depth knowledge of the specific needs, characteristics and vulnerabilities of the EU Crafts sector. The results of the CRAFTING THE FUTURE are tangible, qualifiable, and quantifiable. They include, events, conferences, exhibitions, awards, publications, mobilities, training events and webinars, city summits, dissemination workshops, in the benefit of (i) Craft makers and Craft businesses (ii) Professionals from craft organisations (iii) Craft intermediaries (iv) Policymakers and Stakeholders (vi) general public interested in Crafts.
