Description

Description

The objective of this project is to replace the existing older Ultraviolet (UV) Unit at the Craigleith Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) that has reached the end of its useful life with current technology. The scope of work is to engage a consulting engineer to complete the detailed design and associated tendering and construction administration tasks culminating in the selection of a contractor and the removal of the existing units, modification to existing electrical and installation of the replacement UV unit. Additional work identified during final design includes concrete channel improvements and adjustments to allow for more efficient operations of the new UV, an effluent level controller to minimize variations in flow to keep lamps at an ideal operating submersion, an operator SCADA interface at UV panel, and programming for Module Communication Alarms.
