The project, named Crawfish Creek, is expected to begin construction in 2028 and become operational in 2029. It will be one of the first large-scale battery projects in TVA territory and will support TVA's plan to build 6.2 GW of new generation capacity. The facility will store low-cost power during off-peak periods and discharge during high demand, providing grid-forming services such as frequency response, regulation, and operating reserves to maintain grid stability. |
