"Estinfilm has been working in Estonia as an independent film distributor for already 24 years. With ca 22 new theatrical releases each year, Estinfilm is among small independent distributors who hold 4-8 position in the Estonian market after distributors of US major studio films and local hits. The market share depends on the latest releases, but is usually between 1 and 2%. Its releases are mainly European, with only 1-2 non-European films released each year. Majority of the films are of Nordic origin, with occasional French, German, Dutch, Spanish or Italian film included. The main and most popular genre is drama, with biopics being especially successful. But there are also comedies and even disaster films. Ca 20-30% of all releases are children's films, both live action and animated films that are all dubbed into Estonian. Recent films have included European Film Award or Academy Award nominated or winning films as well as winners of prestigious film festivals and local film awards in many countries. Most acquisitions are released theatrically in Estonia. After ca 3-6 months the films are released on VOD platforms. Most films are afterwards acquired by Estonian national television for free TV broadcast. Several titles are acquired also for Latvia and Lithuania. Distribution in these countries is organised by Estinfilm subsidiary companies and also in co-operation with local cinemas. The admission goal for European non-national films is ca 2000 viewers. Lately, it is hard to reach even that target. Dubbed children's films have had more admissions than dramas for adults, but the box-office tend to be smaller due to lower ticket prices. The biggest success in 2020-2021 was award-winning ""Another Round"" with nearly 10 000 admissions. Estinfilm has 2 employees and mainly uses outsourcing services"
