Description

Description

Our reinvestment initiative will prioritize the acquisition of distribution rights, along with the promotion, marketing, and advertising of films, and will eventually extend to co-productions. In terms of acquisitions, we will continue to source new films from European auteurs, staying true to our long-standing tradition of introducing the works of emerging talents alongside renowned directors such as François Ozon, Cristian Mungiu, the Dardenne brothers and others, with whom we have cultivated strong partnerships over the years. Additionally, we plan to increase our investment in more commercially driven EU films, similar to our past successes with titles like The Bélier Family. The P&A budget will be strategically allocated to enhance the visibility of European films, requiring higher investment to remain competitive against more commercial releases. This budget will also support the release of arthouse films, ensuring they receive the attention needed to reach the right audience. In today’s landscape, MEDIA funds to boost P&A for EU titles are more crucial than ever. These funds play a key role in ensuring that European films can compete effectively in the theatrical marketplace, where national films can benefit from numerous national incentives and US films enjoy distinct competitive advantages.
