Creating Equality Rights to All Students

In a society changing consistently, where people, goods and information mobility take place in a fast pace, we aim to promote and raise awareness, in our students and teachers, for a present world in deep change. We want to alert them to the need and urgency of deeper knowledge of different cultures. Through study visits, seminars, lectures and musical concerts, among other activities, we are looking to showcase the importance of effectively creating proper conditions in order to ensure that all students can feel fully integrated in an open, welcoming and fulfilling society, in an European Union context, regardless of their origins, religious beliefs, ideologies or sexual orientation. Therefore, we want our teachers to deeply understand and know the cultures and origins of the students who arrive in our school from different European and African countries, but also from Southwest Asian ones, allowing us, as a school, to create an inclusive pedagogical methodology that strives to include everyone in today’s society. We want to integrate them in a Western culture deeply rooted in freedom of speech and democracy values. We would like that at the end of this project, our Grouping of schools, Agrupamento de Escolas da Damaia, may be an example of integration in the community of foreign students, from all around the world. That our national teachers and students be elements who promote well-being, happiness and contribute to create a global society and a culture of a more humane school.
