Description | One of the objectives of the Eurometropolis Lille-Kortrijk-Tournai is to introduce its 2.1 million inhabitants to the Blue Park with its more than 5,000 km of waterways through signposting. The "Carré Bleu" is a 90 km loop, formed by the main waterways of the Eurometropolis (Deûle, Lys, Bossuit-Kortrijk Canal, Escaut, the Espierre Canal, Roubaix Canal, Marque Urbaine) which links the three sides of the territory. The aim of the micro-project is to make the Carré Bleu a tourist/recreational product for cyclists, thanks to the signposting carried out within the framework of the micro-project and its promotion in the form of a free map of the route. The development, follow-up and realisation of the micro-project is also being monitored by partners such as Westtoer, Tourisme Wapi, MEL, Provence West Flanders, Leiedal and Maison de Tourisme Mouscron. |
