Youth Centre Perspektiva from Albania together with its partners Hate Fighters Network (HFN) from Serbia, Beyond Borders from Italy and Obojena Klapa (Painted Slate) from Bosnia and Hercegovina would like to implement capacity building project “Creative Canvas” in order to tackle issues of discrimination, hate speech, cyberviolence and gender-based discrimination and violence through creative tools and methods in work with young people. The idea for this project emerged from a growing concern shared by partner organizations in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Italy, and Serbia, who work directly with young people and have observed firsthand a troubling resurgence of violence, discrimination, and hate speech. Despite widespread perceptions that society has moved past many of these issues, the rise of digital technologies and social media has created new spaces where harmful behaviours persist and often escalate. Young people are particularly vulnerable, facing unprecedented exposure to online harassment, cyberbullying, and gender-based violence, all of which have significant impacts on their mental well-being and sense of safety. By focusing on innovative and artistic approaches, the project not only addresses the immediate challenges of cyberbullying, bullying, and hate speech but also fosters long-term advocacy and activism among youth. In alignment with the objectives of the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in the Field of Youth program, the project will strengthen the capacities of partner organizations and young activists to lead impactful awareness campaigns and develop artistic strategies to combat discrimination and violence. Through joint efforts between organizations in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Italy, and Serbia, the project aims to create a regional and cross-border network of youth activists equipped with tools to challenge societal issues and promote a culture of tolerance and respect.
