Description
Description | Ukraine became a participant in the Creative Europe Programme in 2016. This not only opened new access possibilities for Ukrainian organisations to the biggest and most prestigious EU funding program for Culture and Creative Sectors, but it was also, driven by Ukraine’s euro integrational intentions and policy, an important step towards the natural engagement of Ukrainian Culture and Creative Sectors into the European cultural landscape, making the last one richer and more diverse. On a national level from the early start CE Desk Ukraine was a provider of a wide range of services: from promoting, encouraging and facilitating cross-border cooperation to assisting organisations with their applications, organising specific info-days, workshops and annual events, as well as advising potential applicants. The importance of properly functioning CE Desk Ukraine for the implementation of the Programme with sufficient efficiency and in accordance with European Commission policies can not be overrated. On 24 February 2022, Ukraine became the victim of a full-scale invasion and the war of russian aggression against Ukraine. From this moment, the Ukrainian Culture and Creative sectors have been through a big struggle and deep restructuring because of war. That put CE Desk Ukraine into a position where it became a very noticeable and important actor in the whole landscape of Ukrainian Culture and Creative sectors. That gave CEDESK UA the chance to present and promote the Creative Europe Programme as one of the main sources and one of the most prioritised ways and directions for further sustainable development of Ukrainian Culture and Creative sectors. Pushing Ukrainian Culture and Creative sectors to cross-border cooperation within the Programme, and in accordance with the Programme's cross-cutting priorities – is CE Desk’s Ukraine aim and the main context of any activity it provides. |
