Description

Description

The Creedmoor Mixed-Use Redevelopment Project is a revised plan to redevelop the Creedmoor Campus in Eastern Queens, New York. The project includes a significant reduction in housing unit density, a 27% reduction in housing unit square footage, and an accelerated timeline for senior housing construction. The project also reduces the percentage of housing units for individuals with mental illness from 35% to 20%, while maintaining housing reserved for veterans. The plan includes a mix of approximately 52% homeownership and 48% rental units, with all rental units being affordable and homeownership units a mix of affordable and market-rate. The revised plan removes five of the originally proposed 8-story buildings and repositions the remaining buildings to better fit the community context, along with a reduced school footprint to allow for playgrounds, parking, and bus zones.
