CREI hybrid power stations portfolio

The project comprises the development of 413 hybrid power stations at the sites of telecom towers and amplifiers across South Sudan. The sponsor is Communication & Renewable Energy Infrastructure (CREI), which received a mezzanine loan by Finnfund for $ 5m. The amount should facilitate installing, operating and maintaining the power solutions by the sponsor. The loan is part of Africa Connected program and Finnfund’s path as an implementing partner of the EFSD+ Guarantees. The whole financing package includes investments from The Facility for Energy Inclusion (FEI) and the asset management company of ieng Group, Communication & Renewable Energy Infrastructure (CREI) and will be used to finance CREI’s Telecom Energy Service Company in South Sudan.
