Description
Description | A $6 billion AI data center project by CRG on 360 acres north of Festus, Missouri, approved by the city council but faced strong resident opposition leading to political fallout. The project was pitched as a significant economic opportunity with $1.3 billion in taxes over 25 years but resulted in the ousting of four council incumbents who approved it. The project is part of a broader national trend of resistance to AI infrastructure projects due to concerns over property buyouts, noise, and secretive approval processes. |
