Description | This project involves the construction of CRI GEO biogas plant, located in the state of Sao Paulo, Brazil. Sponsors are Geo Biogás & Tech and Grupo Crivellaro. The plant is planned to generate 2.15MW of electricity and to produce 4.5 million m³ of biomethane per year using biodegradable waste from industrial activities around the area. The total amount of the investment is $10.5m (R$56.2m), of which $8.4m (R$44m) are secured with a loan from BNDES covering around 78% of the total amount. The funds will be transferred by the National Fund on Climate Change (FNMC), in the Climate Fund Program, complemented with funding BNDES' own.
