Cross Bay Boulevard and Woodhaven Boulevard Development

This project involved the construction and development of Cross Bay Boulevard and Woodhaven Boulevard in Queens, New York. Cross Bay Boulevard was built across Jamaica Bay to Rockaway Beach, including the construction of two large bridges: the North Channel Bridge and the Cross Bay Bridge. Woodhaven Boulevard was widened and realigned to improve safety and traffic flow. The project shortened the distance between Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Rockaway Beach by about 10 miles. The Cross Bay Veterans Memorial Bridge replaced the original drawbridge in 1970, and the Joseph P. Addabbo Bridge replaced the North Channel Bridge in 1988. Select Bus Service was introduced on both boulevards in 2017 to improve public transit.
