Dealing in the last 25 years with increased numbers of high risk cases of gender based violence, femicide and since 2022 with conflict related sexual violence cases of women and children from Ukraine requesting assistance both in Romania and R.Moldova, consortium members designed a project with the aim to develop two Cross border FEMLIFE intersectional one stop centers in Iasi Romania and Chisinau, R.Moldova – both near the border with Ukraine, as a combination of forces and specializations under one roof to break through violent situations and improve sustainable safety, while working together with local multi-institutional groups (medical forensic doctors, police, social services, prosecutors, judges, lawyers, NGOs working with GBV). Consortium brings international and EU expertise in support, promoter being member in European Family Justice Alliance since 2024, and having 7 GREVIO experts members suporting the initiative of creation of two cross border FEMLIFE one stop centers in Iasi and Chisinau which: 1) Build together new instruments for the protection and support of victims of GBV, developing a model focused on high risk cases and setting up intersectional approach on each case. 2) Creating new models of cooperation among women NGOs on conflict-related sexual violence and early warning indicators and referal in line with the requirements of Article 26 of the VAW/DV Directive, specialised in conflict related sexual violence Also project is proposing to increase capacity of cross border NGOs from Romania and Moldova in dealing with conflict related sexual violence, responding to GBV in war and in post-war and increasing their roles in NAPs on Women Peace Security Agenda in RO and MD and cross border region. 3) Using intersectional lens, the two FEMLIFE centers will develop pilot data bases/data collection analysis on femicide on cross border region based on EIGE proposed indicators for measuring femicide in the EU and other international practices.
