Project objective: By means of a feasibility study, the cities of Konstanz and Kreuzlingen are examining the joint use of waste heat and sea thermal energy with the aim of creating a basis for decision-making for politics and the general public. Description: The transformation process towards a CO2-neutral heating and cooling supply is required. Thermal networks are an important part of the implementation of the net-zero target, especially in the case of cross-border use of sources such as sea thermal or waste heat. The technical complexity, political and legal differences as well as expectations of profitability require a comprehensive feasibility assessment as the basis for further decisions.
