Description

The longer perspective of the current project is to create sustainable neighbourhood relations of children and youth on both side of the border – Estonia and Russia. Overall objective of the project is to encourage the cooperation in youth field between EC member states and EC neighbouring countries in the border region, thereby fostering mutual understanding. The project is expected to contribute to strengthening local sports clubs on both side of the border through experience and know-how received by participation in this project. The immediate objective of the project is to finish the improvements of the sports facilities of Narva (Estonia) and Pechory (Russia) stadiums. Specific objectives of current project include:  finalisation of improvements of football grounds in Narva and Pechory after the reconstruction works (reconstruction works are not part of current project)  training of football trainers, judges and other staff of Russian side to teach them professional football management  series of football matches (both summer and winter) to popularise sports activities, healthy lifestyles and meaningful activities of children’s leisure time as well as to contribute to the intercultural dialogue through sports. But also to give opportunity to implement in practice the knowledge received in training. Target groups of the project are children and youth on both side of the border in the age of 10-18 year, who are interested in sports, namely football. Additionally there will be organized football championships for children and youth in five different age range (from 10 to 18 years). In each age range will participate football teams from different Estonian cities or regions within ENPI programme area – in total 60-70 teams including teams from Pechory in each age class. Totally will be organized approximatey 600 football matches (300 in first year and 300 in second year of the project).
