Following CrossCare (2016-2021), CrossCare 2.0 continues to focus on innovation in response to growing social care needs and needs. The previous trajectory showed that the role and support of pilot gardens can bring great added value to innovation projects in the broad care and welfare sector. At that time, no less than 30 concrete healthcare innovation projects were supported and strengthened. Collaboration in innovation for the care of the future In the current healthcare context, where needs are growing, the willingness to innovate is still limited and the COVID crisis has highlighted a number of issues, there is a need to continue to focus on cooperation between Healthcare Test Gardens, healthcare organisations and innovation developers in the border region. CrossCare 2.0 facilitates the development and implementation of innovations in healthcare by offering financial support and guidance from eight Healthcare Test Gardens. In this way, a Dutch and Flemish testing ground guide companies and/or care organisations in an innovation process to create and test new or improved care concepts, services, processes and products in practice together with end users. The end user such as a patient or citizen is therefore not only central to evaluating, but also in its development, elaboration and adjustment. The new project places additional emphasis on companies such as innovator, green and climate neutral care, health-economic appreciation and a peer review community that serves as a sounding board for the innovation trajectories.
