Description | The Kansas City Royals and Hallmark Cards announced plans for a new downtown Major League Baseball stadium and mixed-use development at Crown Center. The $3 billion public-private project includes demolition, utility relocation, mass excavation, site grading, and construction of a new ballpark and adjacent entertainment and commercial district. The project is expected to generate approximately 20,000 construction jobs and leverage existing parking and transit infrastructure. Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin in 2027 with a target opening for the 2030 MLB season. |
