Description
Description | The Crown Event Center was a planned new event center in downtown Fayetteville, North Carolina, intended to replace the Crown Theatre and Arena. The project was approved in 2022, with a groundbreaking held before the 2024 general election. The project was halted and terminated in 2025 after spending $36 million, due to unresolved questions about renovation costs, lack of parking in original plans, and public preference to keep the event center at the Crown Complex. The county is now trying to recoup spent funds and consider future development options for the site. |
