Description | Plug Power and California-based startup Verne have secured $2 million in funding from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) to co-develop cryo-compressed hydrogen distribution trailers. These trailers are aimed at serving small and mid-sized warehouse and logistics operations across New York State. The project aims to cut costs and increase efficiency for small- to mid-size hydrogen logistics deployments by using Verne's cryo-compression technology, which compresses liquid hydrogen at less than 400 bar, increasing hydrogen storage density by 27% over compressed gas while avoiding boil-off losses. |
