Description

Description

This project is a transportation enhancement project in Lee County, in the City of Smithville. New sidewalks will be constructed along Main Street to replace the existing broken, non-compliant, and non-existing areas, of the Main Street sidewalk. The scope of the project will extend from the Smithville Police Department north to a point approximately one block past SR 118 on the east side of Main Street. The triangle shaped piece of land created by the intersection of SR 118, Cedar Street, and Main Street will be improved with curb and gutter and a six-foot wide ADA compliant sidewalk and ramp. The ten foot wide sidewalks along Main Street will consist of two feet of red brick-stamped concrete next to the curb and eight feet of regular concrete with an octagonal pattern cut in. Landscaping will be installed in the proposed parking islands that project from the sidewalks into the street. Waste receptacles will also be placed in the islands.
