The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) plans to start charging residents for parking spots located under the CTA train tracks in the Lakeview neighborhood, specifically on North Wilton Avenue near Wrigley Field. These parking spots have been used by residents for over 100 years, but the CTA intends to transform the space beneath the Red Line between Addison and Grace into official, regulated parking spaces. The program will create 35-40 parking spaces available via short-term online platforms or long-term agreements through the Under The L program. Enforcement of towing will begin on July 1, 2026, with parking spaces available for $150 per month.
