Côte d’Ivoire - Azito Power Expansion Project - Phase III

The project consists in the expansion of the Azito power plant in Côte d'Ivoire, by converting the existing simple-cycle power plant with 2 x 144 MW gas-fired turbines, to a combined-cycle power plant through the addition of two heat recovery steam generators, a 139 MW steam turbine generator, and all associated balance of plant. The Azito Energie power plant was commissioned in 2001 as a simple-cycle gas-fired power plant with output of 2 x 144 MW and an 18 km double circuit 225 kV transmission line. The Project should contribute to Côte d’Ivoire’s regaining its former role of a major regional power player. The total cost of the Azito expansion project is estimated at USD 430 million.
