Côte d’Ivoire - CIPREL Power Expansion Project

The project concerns the fourth extension of a CIPREL power station. The project involves the design, construction and operation of a combined cycle turbine plant in Côte d'Ivoire. With the start of the economic recovery in Côte d'Ivoire and the related increase in electricity demand, the CIPREL (private electricity generation company in Côte d'Ivoire) undertook, at the request of the Ivorian government, studies to define the various scenarios available to increase the capacity of the CIPREL plant through the implementation of a combined cycle turbine. The project includes the implementation of an additional 111 MW TAG (Phase IV A) and a 111 MW TAV equipped with two heat recovery steam generators, and all the rest of the related equipment of the plant (phase IV B). The electricity generated by the new TAG as well as the TAV will be evacuated through the channel of two new bays that will be built at the existing Vridi 90/225 kV substation.
