Côte d'Ivoire - Road tolling and weighing study

The present study is part of the Government's transport policy for the period 1998-2002. In particular, it should enable the setting up, under optimal conditions, of a toll and weighing system for the collection of additional financial resources coming directly from users, and the control of the loads of heavy vehicles. This study aims to strengthen the sustainability of the road network. It should also make available to the Government technical, economic, financial and institutional elements for the implementation of the said system. The study comprises two phases, namely: (i) establishment of a master plan for a toll / weighing system on the bitumen network (Phase I); and (ii) feasibility study of the priority stage program, which was finalized at the end of Phase I (Phase II).
