Côte d’Ivoire - Support to Industrial Competitiveness Enhancement Project

The support to industrial competitiveness enhancement project (PARCSI) is an institutional support project aimed at facilitating the implementation of National Enterprise Restructuring and Upgrading Programme (PNRMN) and the National Export Strategy (NES). It seeks to enhance the competitiveness of Ivorian businesses in a context of trade liberalization and to promote the fruits and vegetables sub-sector, which is one of the priority sub-sectors of the NES, because of its high potential for creating valueadded and jobs. The PARCSI will help the Ivorian authorities to operationalize the New Industrial Policy (NIP) prepared with the support of World Bank and UNIDO, as well as the National Export Strategy supported by the European Union and UNIDO. It will also help consolidate the work initiated by the European Union and UNIDO at the inception of the National Enterprise Restructuring and Upgrading Programme (PNRMN), which targets a sample of 25 Ivorian enterprises. The project comprises three components, including: (1) support the upgrading and promotion of the fruits and vegetable sub-sector; (2) capacity-building for industrial sector support service; and (3) efficient project management.
