Description | In August 1993, the State of Morelos, Mexico, awarded a 12 year + construction period build, own and transfer contract for a wastewater treatment plant in the City of Cuernavaca to private company Filter SA de CV. The plant was designed to treat wastewater at a rate of 14 million gallons per day and serve an area with 500,000 inhabitants. The treated water was to be used for agricultural irrigation, and the sludge from the plant for soil conditioning. The plant was expected to cost some $14 million. Construction of the plant was completed in May 1994. In 2004 US Filter was purchased by German group Siemens AG. The project concluded as scheduled in 2007. Unsure about contract length.
