Description
Description | The project aims to improve palliative care (PC) in China through the competence development of Chinese teachers, professionals, and students focusing on digital transformation priority. Project's general objective is to enhance the competences in PC in China through education and training to improve the quality of life for citizens. Although PC has been recognised as a public health priority, inequities in the access and availability of palliative care remain. The project develops the competences of current and future healthcare professionals in China by transforming the PC theory and practice to impact the target groups and the society in the long-term. Specific objectives of the project are to build the capacity in PC for Chinese nursing teachers, students and professionals, and to integrate holistic PC into nursing higher education and training in China through digitalisation. The project answers to the identified need of developing PC competences, education and training as well as the accessibility and awareness of PC in China. Project objectives are reached through improving the capacities of the Chinese education sector and the working life ensuring sustainable collaboration among PC stakeholders nationally and internationally. Primary target groups of the project include staff members, teachers, researchers, healthcare professionals and students. Secondary target groups include those who will use the outputs and continue in further development, such as academia, learners, professionals, businesses, patients and their families and other citizens. The project will directly benefit 210 persons. The outputs include training programmes, courses and training base developed for enhancing the PC competences of teachers, professionals and students; initiating a digital ecosystem for PC development nationally and internationally by connecting education, research and the working life; and increasing the awareness and understanding of the target groups regarding PC. |
