CULTure REKindled: Reviving Economic and Cultural Legacy in Rural Landscapes through Artistic Expressions

CULTREK is a small-scale European Cooperation Project under Creative Europe 2025, with the goal of revitalizing and revaluing traditional culture and artistic assets within three rural areas in Europe. The project aims to foster community engagement, stimulate economic growth, and preserve local customs through a diverse range of artistic expressions. Its specific objectives include in-depth analyses of local traditions, arts, and handcrafts, with tailored research on tangible and intangible heritage across these landscapes. It supports the cultural and creative industries of these areas by creating opportunities for collaboration among artists and locals, enabling them to bring traditional rural arts to their communities and beyond. Collaborative clusters will be established through engagement with communities, artisans, cultural organizations, and authorities, strengthening community ties and empowering local artisans. The project will feature three artistic residencies, one per area, involving local artists and locals in researching and creating art based on cultural traditions. Comprehensive training programs during the residencies will focus on entrepreneurship skills, foster innovation, and market-oriented techniques, promoting upskilling and new career opportunities. The outcomes of these residencies will be showcased at a final clustering event in Brussels to contribute to their internationalization. CULTREK aims to establish a collaborative platform and cross-regional partnership among three European rural areas in Poland, Spain, and Croatia. Through the development of local and network-wide cultural and artistic activities, the project seeks to make a significant economic, social, and environmental impact at the local level. The overarching objective is to contribute to the sustainable development, growth, and job creation in these rural territories, with a focus on preserving and promoting the rich cultural and artistic heritage of undervalued areas.
