Cultural heritage and close people-topeople contacts between the neighbours in Lithuania and Latvia create environment, which is favourable for intensive cooperation links on non-governmental level. The project develops sustainable crossborder institutional and people-to-people cooperation model in the field of culture between Latvia and Lithuania, Jelgava and Šiauliai cities in particular. The results of the project are: institutional model for organisation of joint cultural activities; a joint cultural project – a musical – as a pilot project to test the developed cooperation model implemented and the inhabitants of both partner cities well informed about cooperation in the field of culture with the neighbours.
