Description | The Curv project is a 60-storey luxury residential tower planned near Burrard and Nelson streets in downtown Vancouver. It involves the redevelopment of two apartment buildings at 1059 and 1075 Nelson St., which were vacated for the project. The project was designed as an energy efficient residential tower with a mix of condos and rentals. However, sales lagged, construction failed to start last year, and the developers were allowed by the city to pay cash instead of building the 102 rental units they had committed to. The city was promised 174 rental units but is now down by 51 units. The project has entered receivership, illustrating issues in government housing policies and the presale condo market. |
