The project involves the development of three tourist cable cars in the Cusco region (Urubamba, Collpani Grande and Waqrapukara Cable Cars) with an estimated investment of US$110 million.The project includes three tourist cable cars in the Cusco region: the Urubamba, Collpani Grande–Machu Picchu, and Waqrapukara systems.The Collpani Grande–Machu Picchu cable car will span 3.6 km, linking the Collpani Grande community with the Inca Viscachani Astronomical Observatory—a prime viewpoint overlooking the Inca citadel.In Urubamba, known as the Pearl of the Vilcanota, the cable car system will cover 3.5 km across two segments: the first will run from Quespihuanca to an intermediate station situated 500 meters above sea level. In contrast, the second leg will extend from that station to the Querocancha Archaeological Site.The Waqrapukara Cable Car, spanning 3.8 km, is expected to enhance tourism in the southern corridor of Cusco, stimulate local economic growth, and contribute to an improved quality of life for nearby communities.
