Description | The project entails the development of a 11.6 MW waste-to-energy plant in Thuan Thanh district, Bac Ninh province, 40km east of Hanoi. It has a planned capacity of 350 tonnes per day of municipal solid waste and up to 150 tonnes per day of non-hazardous industrial solid waste. The total cost of the project is $ 74 million. Thuan Thanh Environment (Vietnam) – 60%, and JFE Engineering, a subsidiary of JFE Holdings (Japan) – 40%, are jointly developing the waste-to- energy plant. They provided an equity amount of $ 44 million $ 26.40 million and $17.60 million, respectively. Debt provider is the IFC, which provided $ 30 million. Debt to equity ratio is 41:59.
