Description
Description | Organizations have to manage a growing attack surface cause of the increase of the complexity of digital infrastructures, including cloud, on premises environment, containers, IoT, AI and Quantum computing as well as a growing interaction with Third party. The cyber threats are evolving together with new technologies. Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) involves collecting and analysing data about potential cyber threats and using that information to prevent and respond to attacks. One emerging technology that has the potential to enhance CTI is AI. The CAIOC aims to build a modular AI Cyber Capability, able to analyse large amounts of unstructured and structured data to identify potential cyber threat, develop effective mitigation strategies and provide recommendation for incident response. The project is following the intelligence cycle: definition of Intelligence objectives, gathering information, analyse the information through AI, produce output and disseminate it. Project objectives are: (i) To develop AI modules to improve cyber threat analysis departing from Geopolitics scenarios and analysing large amount of unstructured and structured cyber threat intelligence data to identify attack trends, tools, vulnerability exploited and, impact on digital services. This will facilitate to concentrate the mitigation strategy and mitigate the cyber risk, acting on the three risk parameters: Threat, Vulnerability, Impact; (ii) To strengthen the cyber threat analysis capability at National level. This will give the opportunity to National SOCs to share CTI feeds with their constituency. By reducing the likelihood of cyber-attacks the CAIOC impact on the society can be twofold: 1. The social aspect is to avoid service disruption on people’s daily lives, avoiding loss of confidence and trust in technology, companies and online safety. 2. The psychological aspect is also related to the trust. Digital services imply to share sensitive information third parties. |
