The CSC-EDIC proposal aims to establish the Cybersecurity Skills Coalition as a European Digital Infrastructure Consortium (EDIC), addressing the critical cybersecurity skills gap across the EU through a sustainable and impactful framework. This initiative focuses on creating a legally recognized entity with robust governance structures, physical and technical infrastructure, and strategic alignment with EU cybersecurity objectives. Key activities include fostering collaboration between academia and industry by aligning educational curricula with market needs, facilitating innovative training programs such as online modules, cyber labs, and certification initiatives, and supporting public and private sectors with tailored capacity-building resources. Emphasizing inclusivity, the project targets underrepresented groups and regions with significant skills shortages, while also strengthening collaboration across member states through the establishment of regional hubs and strategic roadmaps. Leveraging synergies with existing projects like CADMUS and AKADIMOS, CSC-EDIC aligns with the European Cybersecurity Skills Framework (ECSF) to ensure standardization and scalability. The initiative contributes to the EU’s Digital Decade Policy Programme (DDPP) by accelerating digital transformation, bridging the digital divide, and fostering a competitive cybersecurity workforce that supports EU strategic autonomy. A structured implementation plan divided into work packages ensures efficient project execution, with dedicated efforts toward long-term financial sustainability, quality assurance, and risk management. By addressing the cybersecurity skills gap, CSC-EDIC enhances Europe’s cyber resilience, supports secure digital transformation, and positions the EU as a global leader in cybersecurity expertise and innovation.
