The Cypress Ditch project is a mitigation project to reduce flooding in Bellaire during heavy rain events. It consists of three phases: south basin projects, north basin projects, and channel projects. Completed items include securing the Beechnut St. Car Wash for demolition, launching the project website, and approving a work order for the design phase of lift station upgrades. Upcoming steps include starting construction on the south basin demolition project, bidding for the south basin project, receiving a design contract for demolition and decommissioning of the wastewater treatment plant, and completing a phasing workshop.
